This is a Grade II listed 400 year old barn in Chiddingstone, Kent. These are long standing clients of Clariott. The remit was a full sympathetic renovation of this Grade II listed barn to create a beautiful two bedroom conversion. Full planning permission was granted and Building Regs approved throughout the project. The whole barn was underpinned with new plinth wall with imperial bricks and heritage lime mortar. All the existing main beams were left internally on show and then sand blasted to bring back to their former glory. We formed new doors and window openings, the roof was completely renovated, and we installed completely new services to the barn including a Klargester septic tank. The barn was re clad with traditional English oak boarding. The clients chose a wonderful modern twist for the interior fit out with polished concrete floors with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. Outside we created very subtle landscaping with a small patio for entertaining and a parking area.
This is a Grade II* listed 15th Century property in Edenbridge comprising 2,600sq ft. The renovation on this property was reasonably aesthetic rather than construction work. The work included exposing the main chimney in the lounge, redecorating throughout and installation of a brand new kitchen, and oak floorboards.
The house was sympathetically restored to its original grandeur and made ready for a successful AirBnB holiday rental.
