This project was a slight remodelling of the first floor to include en-suite bathroom, family bathroom and walk-in wardrobe dressing room to the master bedroom. Full planning permission for a single storey extension to the rear forming a large family kitchen, and artists studio. The major construction of this project was opening up the whole ground floor with major steel columns and RSJs. A small courtyard was created from the kitchen with a retaining wall to form an outdoor entertainment area finished with a modern twist of Italian porcelain slabs. Large 6m wide bi-fold doors and raised roof lantern were installed as per plans.
Clients request was to extend the original stable yard by building a fourth side. This incorporated two extra stables, a wash down bay and a beautiful clock tower arched entrance. Brick edged flower beds on the external side of the extention softened the brick work and up lighters created a wonderful nighttime view.
This project in Tunbridge Wells was cleverly architecturally designed as before the project commenced the rear of the property was very dark and uninviting. The project started with the demolition of an exciting small extension c1980. The new extension was a wrap around extension forming a boot room, utility room, another dog room/boot room, downstairs shower and toilet, an open plan kitchen and a beautiful large dining/snug area with vaulted ceilings throughout with a large glass apex atrium.
This project absolutely transformed the rear of this Victorian town house. The Clariott team are returning to the property in the coming weeks to design and build a beautiful garden to compliment the extension with patios, pathways, raised beds and planters.
